How to Write a Company Review That Actually Helps People

By the IsLegitReviews editorial team · 24 September 2026

Most reviews say "great service" or "total scam" and stop there. Those are hard to use. A review helps when the next reader can picture what would happen to them.

Start with what you bought and when

"Ordered a pair of running shoes in March, paid by card" gives context in one line. Prices, dates and product types help readers judge whether your experience matches what they are about to do.

Describe what happened, in order

Did the order arrive? How long did it take? Was the item as described? If something went wrong, who did you contact and what did they say? A short timeline is more convincing than strong adjectives.

Say how the problem was handled

Every company makes mistakes. What separates a decent company from a bad one is what happens next: a quick refund, a replacement, or silence. This is often the most valuable part of a review.

Keep it fair

  • Stick to your own experience, not rumours.
  • Leave out personal details such as order numbers, addresses or staff surnames.
  • Update your review if the company fixes the problem later.

Pick a star rating that matches the text

Five stars for "arrived late but fine" confuses readers, and so does one star for "slow delivery, good product". Rate the whole experience, then explain the parts that stood out.
